VOCAL & OPERA

Since the 5th grade I have been training in various vocal techniques... and it has become a medium of storytelling that I love.

A Classical foundation

Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started in musical theatre, and expanded into opera when I figured out I couldn't hit the high notes, discovering I was a bass deep down.

I always loved participating in various choirs throughout my time in school, including with my time in the New York all-state and all-county choirs. Since beginning training at USC, I've been able to refine my vocal technique, gaining expertise in German and Italian diction, and I've gotten to expand into not only singing full-length operas, but also German Lieder and other classical/musical theatre forms.

Check out these highlights from USC Opera's production of Flight at the Thornton School of Music, featuring the USC Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Brent McMunn. I do love a good villain...

Opera Ensemble

Die Schweigsame Frau

Stemming from my mixed chorus ensemble days, I have a history of training in opera ensemble works that aids me well when working on larger group scenes in opera. Check out this clip of highlights from The Silent Woman, part of USC Thornton's Annual Opera Scenes presentation... showcasing the difficult, precise nature of participating in work by a composer such as Richard Strauss.

Musical Theatre

Cop Song

All my skills and passions intersect in musical theatre. I love tackling bass and baritone roles of all kinds, and it is one of the only places I get to work the acting, singing, and dance muscles all together in one place.

Check out this recording of Cop Song from USC's production of Urinetown!

Check out this cover of a song from Hadestown that my sister Gioianna and I created. A dream role of mine no doubt.
